Job Title: Director, Business Intelligence

Position Description:

The Director of Business Intelligence has the primary responsibility for managing the day-to-day operations of the BI team. This role will help define and execute a vision for the delivery of ETL, reporting and analytics solutions as well as architects/design the multiple data stores (Data Warehouses, Data Marts, ODS, OLTP) and provide documentation including logical/physical models. If you are a seeking a leadership role that involves providing oversight of the technical design on development projects to insure adherence to corporate standards and development best practices.

Responsibilities:
  • Work closely with business analysts, project management office, and business owners to define project scope and requirements
  • Create and maintain development standards and best practices
  • Create and maintain technical specification documents
  • Lead a team of technical resources
  • Evaluate existing and emerging technologies and provide recommendations on integration within systems and best practices
  • Review all project proposals and scope documents to validate technical viability and uniformity to existing projects and architectures
  • Establish and foster strong working relationships with internal and external customers
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or equivalent in experience
  • 8 years of Business Intelligence experience, with at least 3 years managing BI development teams
  • Technical knowledge and experience with Microsoft
  • Business Intelligence solutions such as SSIS, SSRS, SSAS within SQL Server 2005 and 2008 environments
  • Technical knowledge of SharePoint, Performance Point and Power Pivot Pro
  • Data modeling experience supporting Data Marts and Data Warehouse environments (Kimble model)
  • Experience with dimensional database design
  • Experience designing and supporting large database environments
  • Experience with Business Objects, Cognos, MicroStrategy and Panorama is a plus
  • Experience with Agile, Hub-an-spoke methodologies is a plus
  • Experience with driving requirements gathering and documentation Strong customer focus with ability to solve complex
  • business problems with technology
  • Advanced knowledge of technical standards and development concepts
  • Experience within the travel industry is a plus
