This BI Analyst role requires a results oriented and self driven individual to take on a variety of reporting and data integration projects for operational systems. The BI Analyst will work within the MIS group to aid in the integration of manual processes into automated processes. Responsibilities:
|
- Full SDLC for processes to automate manual data integration tasks, including the development of management reports to support the operations
- Understand business needs and ensure that the requirements and data model can support data integration and reporting needs
- Development of a support plan (FAQ, Guidelines for routing trouble tickets, etc)
- Perform impact analysis, build supporting business case for new projects
- Responsible for development of a departmental knowledge management process along with other members of the Back Office Architecture team
- Perform data profiling and develop automated profiling techniques
- Define software and reporting requirements, including data models and use case scenarios
- Coordination with other MIS and IT Support teams
- Troubleshoot integration problems and recommend appropriate solutions
- Development of a communication and end user support plan
- Responsible for ongoing Data Quality/Support/Data Stewardship
- Interact with internal and external clients regarding integration processes and procedures

Required Qualifications:
|
- 5+ years relevant working experience (database design, support and reporting)
- 2+ years of SSRS and SSAS development
- 1+ year of development (any environment)
- Excellent SQL skills
- Ability to own issues and drive to conclusion
- Business analysis background
- Interact directly with other departments to gather integration requirements
- Translate integration requirements into technical specifications
- Experience working in data management, configuration and logical data modeling
- Experience working on decision support / business intelligence applications
- Experience with application interfaces
- Experience defining business requirements
- Understanding of agile or other iterative software development methodologies
- Experience with file transfer methods (eg FTP)
- Optional Requirements[/h]
- Experience with Pentaho Data Integration (Kettle) or other mainstream ETL tool
- Experience with supporting the data side of an ERP or CRM system
- Experience with MySQL
- Experience with MS SQL Server
- Experience with XML
- Experience with data modeling tools
- Exposure to SugarCRM, JasperServer, SalesForce.com
- Hands on experience with: Crystal Reports, JasperReports, Cognos, Infomaker, Actuate, or MS Access
- Understanding of OLAP Cubes (MSAS, Mondrian, MDX)
- Web development technologies; Java, Javascript, PHP, Python, Perl, etc
- Experience working with a software/technology company highly desirable
